Sky Pencil Holly (ilex) has dense dark green foliage and grows in a narrow columnar form that brings vertical interest to your landscape. This evergreen tree's dense habit needs little to no pruning to maintain its upright habit and tops out at 5-10 feet tall and just 2 feet wide. The narrow, column shape makes it a versatile go-to shrub for tight pathways, along fences, as a narrow hedge, alone as an ornamental or in containers.
