After many trials and errors, this succulent fig tree was perfected in 1991! The LSU Purple Fig tree named after the iconic fig breeding program at Louisiana State University and features closed eye, medium-sized figs with white juicy flesh a strawberry colored inside, and a sweet taste. The LSU Fig tree is also exceptionally pest and disease resistant, self-pollinating, and has an upright growth habit! It is also heat tolerant and prefers full sun and loamy well-drained soil.
